Obituary of Harold Bryan Colvard

Mr. Harold Bryan Colvard, better known as "Hal" age 92, of Jefferson passed away Thursday morning, April 19, 2018 at Margate Health & Rehab Center. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, April 22, 2018 at 3:00 pm at Jefferson United Methodist Church with Rev. David Lawrence, Speaker Art Paschal and Speaker Troy Colvard officiating. Burial will follow in the Jefferson City Cemetery. The family will have a gathering of friends from 2:00 - 3:00 pm on Sunday, April 22, 2018, one hour prior to the funeral service at the church. Mr. Colvard was born in Ashe County on August 16, 1925 to the late Larry Parks and Myrtle Ina Phipps Colvard. He served in the United States Army. He worked in the banking industry for 42 years. He started at Northwestern Bank where he served as the vice president of the company. Hal was a faithful member of Jefferson United Methodist Church. He was also preceded in death by a son, Thomas Harold (Tommy) Colvard and a brother, Parks Colvard. Mr. Colvard is survived by his wife, Dorothy (Dot) Campbell Colvard; a daughter, Susan Colvard Paschal and husband Art, of Advance; a daughter-in-law, Sandra Colvard Peterson of Jefferson; seven grandchildren, Brandi Martin and husband Mike, of Pine Hurst, Lance Bumgarner of Wilmington, NC, Tyler Bumgarner and wife Christie, of Raleigh, Brent Lewis and wife Leighann, of Mooresville, Troy Colvard of Winston-Salem, Brock Paschel and wife Liz of Durham and Aaron Paschal and wife Julie, of Asheville; seven great-grandchildren, Hailey, Cooper, Gavin, Trevor, Kennedy, Samantha and Jack; one nephew, Bill Colvard also survives.
