Obituary of Maxine Hooker

Mrs. Maxine Riddick Hooker, age 89, of West Jefferson, formerly of New Bern, passed away Monday, April 30, 2018 at her home.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, May 7, 2018 at 11:00am at the Pavilion at the Green Leaf Cemetery in New Bern.

Mrs. Hooker was born in Mackeys, NC on July 1, 1928 to Columbus and Annie Riddick.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alva R. Hooker; her siblings, Mrs. H.W. Lamb, William Riddick, Cleo Riddick, Rebecca Stalls, Calvin Riddick and Mrs. Tommy Marriner.

Mrs. Hooker is survived by two daughters, Nancy Jordan and husband, Byron, of West Jefferson and Sue Thompson and husband, Mark, of West Jefferson; a sister, Judy Edwards, of Raleigh; two grandchildren, Melissa Bunker and husband, Stephen, of Huntersville and Nicholas Marshburn and wife Summer, of Southern Pines, NC; five great-grandchildren, Paisley and Ian Marshburn, of Southern Pines, Montgomery Bunker, Gus and Emmy Bunker, all of Huntersville; several nieces and nephews also survive.
