Mr. Benjamin D. Miller, age 90, of Crumpler, passed away Tuesday afternoon, August 18, 2009 at Watauga Medical Center. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 20, 2009 at 2pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Bobby Absher and Elder E.W. Hooven officiating. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00pm on Thursday, August 20, 2009, one hour prior to the funeral service. Mr. Miller was born in Ashe County on Monday, December 23, 1918 to the late Columbus Walter and Jenny Vannoy Miller. He served in the United States Air Force during World War II. He was an Agricultural Farmer He is survived by his wife, Ermalee Brooks Miller; two daughters, Clara Miller Shore and husband, Tom, of Pinehall, NC and Crystal Miller Little and husband, Tommy, of Crumpler; a sister, Mamie Osborne of Galax, VA; four grandsons, Kristopher Little, Kirk Shore, Kent Shore and Derek Shore; a granddaughter, Amanda Shore; five great-grandsons; several nieces and nephews also survive.
