Obituary of Leafie Carol McNeill

Mrs. Leafie Carol Severt McNeill, age 77, of Winston-Salem, formerly of Ashe County passed away Monday, May 21, 2018 at Willowbrook Rehabilitation and Care Center in Yadkinville.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, 25, 2018 at 1:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rick Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the McNeill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 11:00-1:00pm on Friday; two hours prior to the funeral service.

Mrs. McNeill was born in Amigo, West Virginia on July 31, 1940 to the late Abner and Grace Walls Severt. She worked a as LPN Nurse. She enjoyed cooking, crossword puzzles, word search puzzles and Bingo. She was a member of North Beaver Baptist Church. She was a loving mother and grandmother; she will be missed by all.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jessie Don McNeill; a son, Lacy McNeill; two brothers, Ray Severt and Lacy Severt; a sister, Janell Robinson.

Mrs. McNeill is survived by two daughters, Nancy Amador and husband, Evaristo , of Winston-Salem and Michelle Hernadez and husband, Silverio,  of North Wilkesboro; a brother, Jack Severt and wife, Bettie, of West Jefferson; three sisters, Betty Ball and husband, Joe, of West Jefferson, Kay Brooks and husband, Dean, of Hillsboro and Marsha Teaster, of Grassy Creek;  seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.
