Obituary of Carol Jean Lane

Mrs. Carol Jean Millstead Lane, age 78, of West Jefferson passed away Wednesday morning, June 13, 2018 at her residence.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday June 23, 2018 at 11:00am at Midway Baptist Church with Rev. Steve LeaShomb officiating.

The family will receive friends from 10:30-11:00am on Saturday; prior to the memorial service.

Carol was born on July 3, 1939 to William Eugene Millstead and Vivian Smith Millstead in Flint, Michigan.

She survived by a son, Richard Lee Lane and wife Jewelene; two grandchildren, Brittnie Lane and Tyler Lane and wife Shelby; five great-grandchildren, Jaxon, Bayli,  Harlee, Boden, and Fisher.

Carol married Richard George Lane on February 4, 1956 in Flint, Michigan. He preceded her in death in 2008 in Pocatello, Idaho, after 52 years of marriage. Also preceding her in death was a son Myron Alton Bearup Lane and five siblings; Pauletta June, David Carl, Henry Francis, Larry Kenneth, and Ernest Eugene Millstead.

Surviving are five half - brothers and sisters; Sue Collins Millstead, Robert (Tammi) Millstead, Daniel (Susan) Millstead, Peggy Millstead Brown (Mark), and Thomas (Ciera) Millstead. Three sisters-in-law; Marge Millstead, LaVerne Millstead, and Alice Millstead. Several nieces and nephews and a lifelong friend for over 60 years, Bettie Severt.
