Obituary of Albertine Pennington

Mrs. Albertine Goodman Pennington, age 88, of Crumpler passed away Wednesday morning, June 27, 2018 at Ashe Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 29, 2018 at 3pm at Welcome Home Baptist Church with Rev. Lonnie Jones and Rev. Joe Riley Blevins officiating. Burial will follow in the Ashelawn Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 1-3pm at Welcome Home Baptist Church.

Mrs. Pennington was born in Ashe County on April 17, 1930 to the late Harvey and Rhoda Wallace Goodman. She was a lifetime member at Welcome Home Baptist Church. She  worked in the banking industry for many years. She enjoyed cooking for her family and friends, gardening, quilting, crocheting, and helping others.  She was a loving mother, grandmother, and will be missed by all.

She is preceded in death by her husband; John Marvin Pennington, five brothers; Earl, Carl, Clifford, John, and Robert Goodman.

Mrs. Pennington is survived by her son; Dennis Pennington and wife Debbie of Crumpler, one grandson; Walter Pennington and wife Courtney of Fort Knox, KY, two great-grandsons; Avery James Pennington and Trent Presley Pennington, two sisters-in-law; Helen Goodman of Crumpler, and Helen Pennington of Middletown, CT, five nieces; Deanna Sebastian, Dorothy Jones, Linda Whitcomb, Jennifer Pennington, and Sherry Goodman, four nephews; Jerry Goodman, William Pennington, Steve Goodman, and Robert Pennington, and two special friends; Patsy Stewart and Terri Chernok.
