Mr. William Glenn Goodman, better known as "Glenn", age 89, of West Jefferson passed away Friday morning, July 6, 2018 at Margate Health and Rehab Center. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 9, 2018 at 1:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Rev. Jim Rash officiating. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:30-1:00pm on Monday, July 9, 2018; prior to the funeral service. Mr. Goodman was born in Ashe County on July 12, 1928 to the late Newton Glenn and Grace Wilcox Goodman. Glenn served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Sprague Electric; where he worked as a Foreman. He was a member of Laurel Knob Baptist Church. He enjoyed gardening and wood working. He was a loving father and grandfather; he will be missed by all. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Rose Edna McGuire Goodman; two brothers, Dean Goodman and Garnett Goodman; two sisters, Sue Little and Winnie Bowers. Mr. Goodman is survived by a son, Jerry Goodman and wife, Sharon, of Rockingham, NC; a daughter, Glenda Goodman, of North Wilkesboro; a brother, N.G. Goodman and wife, Karen, of Fleetwood; two grandchildren, Chance Goodman and companion, Raquel, of Hamlet and Katie Goodman and companion, Jamie, of Rockingham; three great-grandchildren, Arlee Rose Goodman, Adelia Goodman and Parker Goodman; several nieces and nephews also survive.
