Mr. Jerry Lee Craven, age 71, of Carrollton GA, formerly of Ashe County passed away Monday, July 9, 2018 at his home. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, July 15, 2018 at 3:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with military rites to follow. The family will receive friends from 1:00-3:00pm on Sunday, July 15, 2018; two hours prior to the funeral service. Mr. Craven was born in Ashe County on November 22, 1946 to the late Eugene and Grace Bare Craven. He served in the United States Army during Vietnam. He worked at Gate's Rubber Company for several years; where he worked as a supervisor. Jerry was a master gunsmith and gun trader. He enjoyed deer and bird hunting and fishing for trout. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather; he will be missed by all. He was also preceded in death by a son, Christopher Craven; a brother, Billy Joe Craven; a sister, Lucinda "Cindy" Butchee. Mr. Craven is survived by his wife, Linda Weaver Craven; a daughter, Leigh Knight and husband, Robert, of Carrollton, GA; a brother, Tommy Craven and wife, Shirley, of Glendale Springs; two sisters, Pearl Jean Miller, of Glendale Springs and Lena Raye Gray, of Jefferson; two grandson, Jarred Knight and Judson Knight, both of Carrollton, GA; several nieces and nephews also survive.
