Obituary of Mary Louise Jones

Mrs. Mary Louise Cox Jones, better known as "Mary Lou", age 73, of West Jefferson died Monday afternoon, August 24, 2009 at Watauga Medical Center. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 7:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Billy Joe Blevins officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:00pm on Thursday, one hour prior to the funeral service. A second funeral service will be held on Friday at 3:30pm at Deep River Baptist Church in Ramseur, NC with Rev. Gene Adcock officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends thirty minutes prior to the funeral service. Mrs. Jones was born in Randolph County on Thursday, April 30, 1936 to the late Herbert and Edna York Cox. She received her degrees at High Point University and UNCG. She taught school for 36 years. She was a member of Bristol Baptist Church. She was preceded in the death by her husband, Lester Floyd Jones on March 26, 2009 She is survived by a daughter, Alice Dickerson of Sanford, NC; three brothers, Russell Cox of Asheboro, NC, Calvin Cox of Coleridge, NC and Roy Cox of Portsmouth, VA; a sister, Wilhelma Poole of Asheboro, NC; a grandchild, Justin Rogers, of Sanford, NC; an uncle, John York; nieces and nephews also survive. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Ashe Really Care's, P.O.
