Obituary of James Edward Treadway

Mr. James Edward Treadway, age 72, of Creston, passed away on Thursday night, August 2, 2018 at Margate Health and Rehab. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 9, 2018 at 6pm at Boone Family Funeral Home with Rev. Dean Shaw, Rev. Ambrose Jones, and Minister David Lyalls officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 9, 2018 from 5-6pm at Boone Family Funeral Home. Mr. Treadway was born in Ashe County on Sunday, January 10, 1946 to the late Frank Henry and Virginia Carolbelle Jones Treadway. He enjoyed fishing and spending time in the mountains. He was also preceded in death by a son; James Treadway, Jr., and two brothers; Dale and Jerry Treadway. Mr. Treadway is survived by two daughters; Alice Tolbert of Hickory, and Jennifer Cummings of Jefferson, two sons; Quincy Treadway and wife Katrina of Lansing, and Malcolm Treadway and wife Jennifer of Jefferson, four brothers; Robert Treadway and wife Geneva of Creston, Ralph Treadway of West Jefferson, Jed Treadway and wife Virginia of Jefferson, and Terry Treadway and wife Becky of Jefferson, three sisters; Barbara Sheets of Mocksville, Ruth Hall and husband David of Boone, and Brenda Gordon of Yadkinville, nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild, several nieces and nephews also survive.
