Obituary of Kenneth Earl Neaves

Mr. Kenneth Earl Neaves, age77, of West Jefferson passed away Friday afternoon, August 31, 2018 at Ashe Memorial Hospital. Memorial services will be held on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at 11am at Boone Family Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Pugh officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 10-11am at Boone Family Funeral Home. Mr. Neaves was born on July 8, 1941 to the late Jones and Mary Campbell Neaves. He enjoyed gemstone carvings, and cutting timber while working on the mountains. He also enjoyed his flowers, gardening, and ginseng. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and will be missed by all. He is preceded in death by two brothers; Richard Allen Neaves and Michael Roy Neaves, and one sister; Barbara Ann Farmer. Mr. Neaves is survived by his wife of 35 years; Ruth McCoy Neaves, two daughters; Crystal Hadley and husband Rick of Salisbury, and Barb Rash and husband Herb of West Jefferson, three sons; Johnny Neaves of Ashe County, James Neaves of West Jefferson, and Earl Neaves of Ashe County, two brothers; Gerald Neaves and wife Rosie of Lansing, and Wayne Neaves and wife Joyce of Hickory, two sisters; Brenda Sue Hartsoe of Hickory, and Becky Allen and husband Jim of Lansing, four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews also survive. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Medi Home Hospice, PO Box 421, Jefferson, NC 28640.
