Obituary of Clifford Allen Poe

Mr. Clifford Allen Poe, better known as “Allen”, age 76, of Crumpler, passed away Saturday morning, September 1, 2018 at his residence.

Graveside memorial services will be held on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at 4pm at Colvard Cemetery with Rev. Lonnie Jones officiating.

Mr. Poe was born in Ashe County on December 24, 1941 to the late Walter and Mary Lambert Poe. Allen enjoyed fishing, hunting, nature, woodworking, and gardening. He visited Mt. Rogers State Park often to pick huckleberries. He was a loving husband, father, and will be missed by all.

Mr. Poe is survived by his wife of 57 years; Alice Shepherd Poe, two daughters; Melissa Brewer and husband Jeffery of Crumpler, and Pamela Jarrell and husband Paul of Charlotte, one sister; Nancy Poe of Crumpler, special family friend; Leigh Craven Knight of Georgia, and several nieces and nephews also survive.

The family will be meeting at the homeplace, 242 Nathans Creek School Road, Crumpler, NC.
