Mrs. Mildred Elizabeth Billings, age 82 of West Jefferson died Monday morning, September 3, 2018 at Ashe Memorial Hospital. Graveside service will be held on Friday, September 7, 2018 at 1:00pm at Scottsville Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Chuck Call officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00-12:00pm on Friday, September 7, 2018 at Ashe County Worship Center. Mrs. Billings was born in Fries, Virginia on August 3, 1936 to the late Estel and Zollie Wiles Billings. She was a member of Ashe County Worship Center. She was a loving and giving person and never met a stranger. She was a loving mother, grandmother and sister; she will be missed by all. She was also preceded in death by five brothers and a sister. Mrs. Billings is survived by three daughters, Peggy Thompson, of Lansing, Janice Testerman and husband, Richard, of Jefferson and Mary Sanchez and husband, Esteban, of West Jefferson; two step daughters, Deborah Montgomery and husband, Johnny, of Sparta and Teresa Scott, of Eden; three step sons, Raymond Billings and wife, Crystal, of Eden, Terry Billings and wife, Michele of Eden, James Billings and wife, Shirley, of Sparta; two brothers, Roy Billings and wife, Diane, of Lansing and David Billings, of West Jefferson; a sister, Wanda Hardin, of West Jefferson; fourteen grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; several great grandchildren also survive.
