Mr. Robert Hamby better known as Bobby, age 80, of Glendale Springs passed away Thursday, September 6, 2018 at Ashe Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at 2:00pm at Glendale Springs Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Rickie Triplett and Rev. Russell Sheets officiating. Burial will follow church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00pm on Saturday, September 8, 2018; two hours prior to the funeral service. Mr. Hamby was born in Ashe County on January 8, 1938 to the late Fannie Hamby Bare and Kinza Bare. He was a member and Deacon at Glendale Springs Missionary Baptist Church. He enjoyed old cars and talking to his friends at Parkway Café. He always had a smile on his face. He was a loving father and grandfather; he will be missed by all. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Louise Evelyn Miller Hamby on December 28, 2014; two brothers, Mike Bare and Keith Bare. Mr. Hamby is survived by two sons, Gary Hamby, of Glendale Springs and Terry Hamby and wife, Tonya, of Glendale Springs; a brother, Donnie Bare and wife, Lou Jean, of Advance; a sister, Teresa Akres, of Winston-Salem; four grandchildren, Christopher Hamby, Hannah Hamby, Trevor Hamby and Teryn Hamby; several nieces and nephews also survive.
