Mrs. Carol Maxwell Mitchell, age 68, of West Jefferson passed away Monday evening at Forsyth Medical Center. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at 12:00pm at Cox's Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Frontina Wray officiating. Mrs. Mitchell was born in Alleghany County on June 26, 1950 to the late Sebert and Annie Maxwell. She was a member at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. She was also preceded in death by four sisters and three brothers. Mrs. Mitchell is survived by one daughter; Yvonne Maxwell of Jefferson, one grandson; Dominic Maxwell, and several nieces and nephews also survive.
