Obituary of Linda Kay Hopkins

Mrs. Linda Proffitt Hopkins, age 72, of West Jefferson died Wednesday morning, October 31, 2018 at her residence.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, November 4, 2018 at 3:00pm at Bald Mountain Baptist Church with Rev. John Elledge officiating. Burial will follow in the Bald Mountain Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00pm on Sunday, November 4, 2018; one hour prior to the funeral service.

Mrs. Hopkins was born in Butler, TN on August 24, 1946 to the late Bruce and Mavis Fletcher Proffitt. She worked as a sales clerk at Wal-Mart in West Jefferson. She had a passion for collecting Angels. She was a loving wife, mother and sister; she will be missed by all.

She was also preceded in death by a son, Everette Wayne Lunceford; a brother, Jackie Proffitt and a sister, Dorothy Stanley

Mrs. Hopkins is survived by her husband, Allen Hopkins; three sons. Tim Hopkins and wife, Justine, of West Jefferson, Tony Hopkins, of West Jefferson and Anthony Hopkins, of West Jefferson; a daughter, Patricia Seagle and husband, Lance, of Fleetwood; a brother, Jerry Keith Proffitt, of Elizabethton, TN; four sisters, Norma Jean Eldreth, of Mountain City, TN, Beverly Jean Lowe, of Mountain City, TN, Judy Brockwell and husband, Donald, of Elizabethton and Nancy Matherly, of Elizabethton; a daughter-in-law, Rebecca Lunceford; a special friend, Homer Shell; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.
