Johnson family,
I came to know Tommy by visiting Forest Ridge with children of WJ First Baptist Church. He was a joyful and and kind man that enjoyed singing with the children. At one visit, we sang old Bible School songs to the residents. Tommy not only remembered the words to songs but he knew the sign language too..song after song. What a lovely witness to his Christian life! We enjoyed our visits and time spent with Tommy. God bless your family.

Tommy was my Sunday School teacher many years ago at West Elkin Baptist Church in Elkin. He had a great deal of patience with us classroom of young boys. He made an impact on my life and as result of him, I became a Christian. I am now a retired middle and high school principal and have tried to practice the lessons he taught me so many years ago. Thank you Tommy, you made a difference for me.

Johnson family: I was so very sorry to hear about Tommy's passing, but my first thoughts were about the rejoicing that is going on in Heaven! Tommy and MaryJo were a HUGE part of my growing up at Friendship Baptist Church, and then later at Grace Fellowship. I thank God often for placing them both in my life and will always remember them both so fondly. I can just see Tommy sitting with all the "saints of old" reminiscing and laughing and getting so many questions answered. He will forever be remembered for his precious, giving spirit, sweet smile, and wonderful laugh! Love to all!

Ohhh I’m so sorry to hear of Tommy’s passing! But so happy for him to finally see his Savior, that he loved so much, face to face!! Thank God I was able to know him, Mary Jo, Nanny and the rest of his family. What a HUGE influence he had in the Fox family faith!! So enjoyed my time at Friendship Baptist with him and all the wonderful folks there. And also visiting at Grace. I just praise God that we will all be together for eternity someday and praising, singing, and fellowshipping with our Lord!!! Prayers for the family as they go through this time in their lives. Tommy was a wonderful person and was truly called by God to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It meant so much when he visited my mother and me after my father passed away in 1995.

Wow! There isn't enough space here to say all of the great things that would describe Tommy. I just learned about his death on Facebook. When I read it, at first I was so hurt and felt such a lose. But then I thought about Mary Jo and how happy she must be right now. He finally crossed over into Beulah Land.
