Obituary of John Harmon

Mr. John Harmon Jr., age 96, of Southern Pines passed away peacefully Saturday morning, November 3, 2018 at Margate Health and Rehab.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Mr. Harmon was born in Shelby County, Illinois on June 14, 1922 to the late John Caleb and Sybil Doyle Harmon. He worked in the furniture industry as an Executive for over 40 years. He married the love of his life Dorothy Elizabeth Carson Harmon and together they had 72 years of marriage. He was a loving husband, father and friend to all. He will be greatly missed by everyone.

Mr. Harmon is survived by a son, John D. Harmon, of Lansing; two daughters, Sybil L. Harmon, of Creston and Theresa S. Garvin and husband, Dale, of Lansing; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.

The family requests that donations be made to your local SPCA as a memorial in lieu of flowers.
