Mary and I were out of town and only learned today of the passing of Mr.Brookshire. We extend our heartfelt sympathies to you and your entire family. It was a privilege to have known him and to have had several opportunities to enjoy his company over lunch (which he usually insisted on paying). True gentlemen like him and self-made men are rare and to be treasured. Some people think that one succeeds in business and life by besting others. Mr.Brookshire did it by helping others. Please take comfort in knowing that others share your sense of loss and that you had the unique good fortune to have his mentorship and love for so many years. He will be remembered with affection and his his many good deeds will part of a positive legacy for all who knew him.

Chris and Bonnie,
I am so sorry for your loss. Bill was a dear friend and business associate but above all, he was a kind and giving person. Bill, always impressed me as being the real example of a "southern gentleman". We had common interests especially politically. He would call me out of the blue and we would talk "politics". Brother Bill, although we did not get to see each other much in the past couple of years I will always remember you as a true friend and someone I could always put my trust in. Bonnie and Chris, I know you and the family will deeply miss him but I know that you have many precious memories to carry you through these sad times. I know from experience that the Lord will uplift you and gives us the blessed promise that, though Christ, we can see our loved ones again and spend eternity with them (II Samuel 12:23). Please feel to free to call me any time 24-7 that I may be able to help you in any way. God Bless, Ben

We extend our deepest sympathy to Bills family. We have enjoyed many conversations with Bill and will miss him in our lives. And the apples too!
I remember him listening to some of my 4-H Horse Judging team giving a set of oral reasons and Bills eyes filled with tears. I think he was moved by their confidence and proud of his communities children and their accomplishments.
He was so gentle and kind. He will be missed.

To Bonnie and Teressa, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy to you both. I understand what it is like to lose a parent. I enjoyed working at JCB and especially with Mr. Bill. He was a true friend to me and so are the same for you both. I had talked with him on Friday for a few minutes and he said he was feeling good. I know that he will truly be missed by me as well as in the community. He was a true servant to the public and all his customers. I look forward to seeing him on the other side.

Bill was the best friend any one could ever wish to have. He was always right there, no questions asked. Bill showed and lived more kindness than I can describe. He was so very good to everybody. I will miss him so much, my very good friend, and I'm so glad that I had the chance in my life to know a man like him. My condolences and prayers for all the family. Love Sam

Teresa, Bonnie, and Family,
I can't remember a time in my life when Bill was not like a family member because of his Rubin connection. So many memories flood my mind as I feel so sad with his death. However our memories become precious reminders of loved ones who have meant so much to us. May your precious memories and God's amazing grace carry you through this difficult time. Blessings to each of you.
