Obituary of Virginia Ruth Neaves

Mrs. Ruth McCoy Neaves, age 80, of West Jefferson passed away Thursday evening at her home.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, December 23, 2018 at 3pm at Boone Family Funeral Home with Rev. Tommy Graybeal and Rev. Dean Watson officiating. Burial will follow in the Ashelawn Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 23, 2018 from 2-3pm at Boone Family Funeral Home.

Mrs. Neaves was born in Ashe County on January 11, 1938 to the late David and Rosa Graybeal McCoy. She attended Christian Unity Church in Jefferson. In her spare-time she loved to cook and sew. She also enjoyed being a caregiver and sitting with her friends. She was a loving mother and grandmother; and will be missed by all!

She was also preceded in death by Bircha Sluder, Kenneth Neaves, and a brother; Blaine Wilson McCoy.

Mrs. Neaves is survived by two daughters; Barbara Rash and husband Herb of West Jefferson, and Crystal Hadley and husband Rick of Salisbury, one brother; Rev. Charles McCoy and wife Ethel Mae of Lansing, one sister; Loretta Goodman and husband Grover of Jefferson, two grandchildren; Kim and Laura Rash; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
