Obituary of Bennie Leonard Sheets

Mr. Bennie Leonard Sheets, age 88 of West Jefferson passed away Wednesday morning, January 16, 2018 at Forest Ridge Assisted Living.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 18, 2019 at 2pm at Boone Family Funeral Home with special speaker Andrew Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Calloway Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 1-2pm at Boone Family Funeral Home.

Mr. Sheets was born in Ashe County on August 27, 1930 to the late Allen and Ila South Sheets. He served in the United States Air Force. He retired from the North Carolina State Department. He enjoyed playing games with his nieces and nephews and also going to the Senior Center everyday.

Mr. Sheets is survived by a sister-in-law; Yvonne Sheets, two nieces; Cindy Parsons of West Jefferson, and Sherree Street and husband Avery of Mocksville, and two nephews; Mark Sheets of Washington, DC, and Allen Sheets and wife Rebecca of Mocksville.
