John Charles Mullis, better known as "Johnny" age 82, of Lansing, passed away Monday, January 21, 2019 at his home. He was born August 4, 1936 in Ashe County to Charles Elmer and Rosie Edith Howell Mullis. John was a people person, loved others and people loved him. He was an avid musician, loved guitar, fiddle and the banjo. Mr. Mullis was preceded in death by his parents. Surviving are his daughters, Debbie Hartman and husband Keith of Clemmons, Trixie Brown of Lansing; sister, Jo McGuire and husband Owen of Port Charlotte, Florida; brother, Jerry Mullis of Sparta; special friend, Gay Freeman of Jefferson; five grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. Memorial service will be held 2:30 Sunday, January 27, 2019 at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Billy Joe Blevins and Rev. Lloyd Day officiating. The family will receive friends at Boone Family Funeral Service from 1:00 until 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, prior to the service. The family requests no flowers please.
