Obituary of Millie Pauline Eastridge
Mrs. Millie Pauline (Velma) Eastridge, age 88, of Mountain City, Tennessee, formerly of Creston, North Carolina passed away peacefully on February 20, 2019 surrounded by her family.
She was born April 2, 1930 in Ashe County to the late William and Lola Graybeal Jones. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Vaughn Eastridge who passed away in 2008 and a daughter, Frankie Walsh and an infant daughter. Her brothers, Herbert Joseph (Gwyn), James Elco and William (B.J.) Jones, Jr. and two grandchildren, Michael Ray Wilson and Jerry Carlton Eastridge.
She was a faithful member of Jesus Life Worship Center in Moravian Falls, North Carolina. Attending church was the most important aspect of her life. She enjoyed eating out and sightseeing. She loved her family dearly and prayed for their eternal salvation.
She was an employee of Sprague/Chemi-Com for 42 years, retiring in 2002.
She is survived by three sons, Joe Eastridge (Mildred) of Mountain City, Tennessee and Jerry Eastridge (Linda)and Jeff Eastridge, all of Creston, North Carolina. Three daughters, Brenda Patrick (Wayne) and Regina Wilson, both of Creston, North Carolina, Mary Trivett (Ted, Jr.) of Mountain City, Tennessee; one sister, Geneva Roark (J.R.), of Creston; one son-in-law, Jimmy Walsh, of Creston, North Carolina and one sister-in-law, Bonnie Jones, of Oxford, Pennsylvania. Grandchildren: Joey, Jamie, Donna, Debbie, Dianne, Lisa, Lee, Suzi, Rachel, Brittany and Ryan. Great-Grandchildren: Jason, Josh, Daniel, Ashlee, Hailee, Heather, T.J., Johnny and Emmaline. Great, Great-Grandchildren: Jaxson, Autumn, Star and Eden.
The visitation of family and friends will be Monday, February 25, 2019 from 2:00 to 3:00pm with funeral service to follow. Richard Owings of Jesus Life Worship Center officiating. Graveside service and burial will be at Ashelawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
A special thank you to the staff of Mountain City Care and Rehabilitation Center of Mountain City, Tennessee who treated Millie with great respect and love.
