Obituary of James Franklin Lefevers, Jr.

Mr. James Franklin Lefevers, Jr., age 74, of Creston passed away Monday, February 25, 2019 at his home. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 3, 2019 at 2:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Phil Arnold, Rev. Matthew Foster and Rev. Lloyd Payne officiating. Burial will follow in the Ashelawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00pm on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Lefevers was born in Ashe County on February 20, 1945 to the late James Franklin Lefevers and Mattie Mae Lewis Lefevers. He retired from CarQuest where he worked as a machinist. After retirement, he also worked at WBT Trucking as a diesel mechanic. James enjoyed hunting and riding his Harley. He was very devoted in the care of his mother. He was a loving father, son and brother; he will be missed by all. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Leslie Lefevers and two wives, Ginger May Lefevers and Ruby Burchette Lefevers. Mr. Lefevers is survived by a son, James Lefevers and wife, Julie, of Crumpler; his mother, Mattie Lefevers, of Creston; a brother, Robert Lefevers, of Creston; four grandchildren, Brittany Slate, Toshia Absher, Vinny Howell and Olivia Wilcox; three great-grandchildren, Kensey Slate, Alex Slate and Allie Slate; several nieces and nephews also survive. Flowers accepted or memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
