Obituary of Minnie Lou Osborne

Mrs. Minnie Lou Patrick Osborne, age 76, of Lansing passed away Saturday, March 9, 2019 at Margate Health and Rehab.

The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00pm on Thursday, March 14, 2019 at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial will be private.

Mrs. Osborne was born in Ashe County on May 2, 1942 to the late Robert Lee and Gladys Ivalea Osborne Patrick. She graduated Riverview High School in June 1960, and married Dexter on November 28, 1960. Minnie was creative and enjoyed painting, drawing, sewing, genealogy and reading in her spare time. Minnie was instrumental in the mapping and cataloging in the Ashe County cemeteries, and could be frequently be found in the genealogy room until multiple illnesses curtailed her activities later in life. She was first and for most a wife and mother, and later grandmother; she loved to socializes and never met a stranger.

Minnie is preceded in death by her husband, Dexter Vaughn Osborne, sister; Jean Howell, and brother; Joseph Patrick.

She is survived by four daughters; Sara Osborne Ham of Jefferson, Sherrie Osborne Pettry and husband Donnie of Conover, Ann Osborne Tucker and husband Phillip of Lansing, and Jeannie Osborne Tumbiolo and husband Tim of Blowing Rock, two brothers; John Patrick and wife Mary of Creston, and Earl Patrick and wife Sandra of Creston, two brothers-in-law; Earnest Howell of Laurel Springs, and Dean Osborne and wife Nelladean of Statesville, one sister-in-law; Patsy Patrick of Creston, five grandchildren; Rob Roark and wife Amber of Wilkesboro, Taylor Tumbiolo of Blowing Rock, Ashley Whisnant and husband Alex of Bethelem, Willard Bryan Sheets of Jefferson, and Kevin Pettry of Conover, one great-grandchild; Raiden Whisnant of Bethelem, two step- grandchildren; Codie Tucker of Creston, and Tobie Tucker of Creston, several nieces and nephews also survive.
