Obituary of Timothy Allen Stamper

Mr. Timothy Allen Stamper, age 56, of Lansing, passed away Thursday morning, April 18, 2019 at North Carolina Baptist Hospital.

Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at 3:00 pm at Boone Family Funeral Home with Rev. Tommy Dollar, Larry Weed, CLP and Mae Weed, CLP officiating with military rites.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 1:00-3:00 pm at Boone Family Funeral Home.

Mr. Stamper was born in Manassas, Virginia on May 12, 1962 to Byrl and Grace Anne Buchanan Stamper. Tim retired from Army National Guard after serving 22 years as a Staff Sergeant. He served in Desert Storm from 1990-1991 and Iraqi Freedom from 2004-2005. One of his many passions was visiting cemeteries and placing flags on Veterans graves. Timothy enjoyed riding four wheelers, fishing, and was proud of his military service. He always had a smile on his face and was willing to help anyone.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Grace Anne Buchanan Stamper; his mother-in-law, Linda Roten.

He is survived by his wife; Lisa Roten Stamper, his father; Byrl Stamper of Whitetop, VA, one brother; Brian Tyson of Pylesville, MD, two sisters; Susan Finley and husband Mike of Whitetop, VA, and Melanie Cox and husband Bob of Lansing, his father-in-law; Ernest Roten and fiancé Julie Foster of Glendale Springs; several nieces and nephews also survive.
