Mr. Rodney Paul Lewis, age 71, of Creston, died Friday morning at Ashe Memorial Hospital. Graveside service will be held on Monday, September 14, 2009 at 3:00 pm at the Sutherland Family Cemetery with Rev. Rickey Mitchell officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00pm on Monday, at Boone Family Funeral Home. Mr. Lewis was born in Ashe County on Friday, October 8, 1937 to the late Paul Lewis and his mother who survives, Ruth Rominger Lewis of Chesapeake, MD. He is survived by two sons, Jody Lewis and wife, Allison of Jupiter, FL, Rodney Lewis, Jr. of West Palm Beach, FL; two daughters, Stella Mae Stansbury of Panama City, Fl, Joni Lewis of Panama City, Fl; two sisters, Martha Vandenheuvel and husband, Gene of Baltimore, MD, Patricia Stoots and husband, Jim of Florence, SC; five grandchildren, Britney Lewis Daschke, Tristin Lewis, Rice Stansbury, TR D'Amato, Cash Lewis; one great-grandchild, Brayden Daschke; several nieces and nephews also survive.
