Obituary of Billy Joe Jenkins

Mr. Billy Joe Jenkins, age 66, of Crumpler passed away Sunday night, May 26, 2019 at North Carolina Baptist Hospital.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at 3:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Steve Ashely and Rev. Lonnie Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Senter Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:00-3:00pm on Wednesday; two hours prior to the funeral service.

Mr. Jenkins was born in Ashe County to the late James Harley Jenkins and Ella Mae Davis Jenkins. He worked for over 30 years at Thomasville Furniture and finishing his working career at Wal-Mart; where he worked for 17 years as the Hardware Department Manager. He was a member of Welcome Home Baptist Church

Bill enjoyed fishing and deer hunting; but most of all camping by the river with his family. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He played in the church softball league and he was known as "Twinkle Toes". He was a loving husband, father and grandfather; he will be missed by all.

Mr. Jenkins is survived by: his wife, Judy Absher Jenkins; two sons, Bobby Jenkins and wife, Gina and Kevin Jenkins and wife, Olivia, all of Crumpler; his mother, Ella Mae Davis Jenkins, of Crumpler; a sister, Barbara Houck, and husband, Willie, of Crumpler; a brother, Jim Jenkins, of Crumpler; four grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.
