Obituary of James Horton Bare

Mr. James Horton Bare, better known as “Jim”, age 78, of Jefferson, passed away Friday morning, May 31, 2018 at his residence.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, June 3, 2019 at 1pm at Roan Creek Cemetery with Rev. Clayton Handy officiating.

Mr. Bare was born on September 17, 1940 to the late Lloyd and Sessie Walters Bare. Jim attended Big Ridge Community Church. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is preceded in death by a daughter; Deborah Gibson, and five siblings.

Mr. Bare is survived by his wife; Dora Brown Bare, five sons; Tim Bare and wife Cheryl of New Mexico, Denis Bare of New Mexico, Michael Bare and wife Kammy of Jefferson, Danny Bare of Roanoke, VA, and John Bare and wife Dena of Jefferson, two daughters; Zena Jones of Jefferson, and Tammy Dunnagan of Jefferson, one brother; Jerry Bare and wife Brenda of Troutman, one sister; Katie Burgess and husband Otto of Kannapolis, seventeen grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survive.
