Obituary of Rita Lee Adams

Mrs. Rita Lee Ashley Adams, age 75, of West Jefferson, passed away Monday morning at Ashe Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:30am at Mount Jefferson Presbyterian Church with Rev. Will Heyward officiating. Burial will follow in the West Jefferson City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 10-11:30 on Thursday at Mount Jefferson Presbyterian Church.

Mrs. Adams was born in Ashe County, NC on August 24, 1943 to the late Jim and Margaret Ritter Ashley. Rita enjoyed her jigsaw puzzles and playing games on her Ipad with her sisters-in-law. She went her good friend Martha Long to Mountain Hearts. She was a loving wife, mother, and will be missed by all.

She is preceded in death by a sister; Helen Barker, and a brother; John Ashley.

Mrs. Adams is survived by her husband; Bobby Adams, one son; Jimmy Adams and wife Renea of Jefferson, one brother; David Ashley of Smethport, sisters-in-law; Dixie Adams and husband Ray of Darlington, MD, and Pat Somers and husband Pike of Graham, NC, and several nieces and nephews also survive.
