Mr. Charles Dee Greer, age 91, of Todd, passed away Sunday morning, June 30, 2019 at Margate Health and Rehab Center. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at 11:00am at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. JD Walton officiating. Burial will follow in the Woodford Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 on Tuesday, July 2, 2019; one hour prior to the funeral service. Mr. Greer was born in Ashe County on July 21, 1927 to the late Charles Herman and Hazel Church Greer. He worked as an automotive mechanic at Mack Brown Chevrolet and later he opened his own shop. He was the Superintendent of Blackburn's Tabernacle Church, for many years. Charles was also preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Reid; three brothers, Donald Greer, Dale Greer and Warren Greer. Mr. Greer is survived by: a son, Wallace Greer and wife, Alice, of Todd; a daughter, Angela Greer Grubb and husband, Ronnie, of Todd; two brothers, Joe Greer, of Edgewood, Maryland and Jerry Greer, of Todd; a sister, Diane Roark and husband, Gary, of Jefferson; six grandchildren, Rick Surber, Drew Surber, Emiline Greer, Eli Greer, Isaac Greer and Jacob Grubb; several nieces and nephews also survive.
