Mrs. Fanny Lee Carter Miller, age 91, of West Jefferson went to her eternal homecoming in heaven on Friday, July 5, 2019 surrounded by family at her home. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at 2:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ken Morris officiating. Burial will follow in the West Jefferson City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00 on Tuesday; two hours prior to the funeral service. Fanny Lee was born February 24, 1928 to Gaither William Carter and Martha Malinda Darnell Carter. She was a member of the Greater Vision Community Church. Fanny Lee worked over 40 years at Parker Tie and thought of the Woodie family as her own. She enjoyed reading and studying the Bible, gardening, crocheting, quilting and spending time with her family and especially her great-grandsons who called her "G.G." She will be missed by all that knew her. Fanny Lee is survived by a son, Allen Glade Miller and wife, Mary; a brother, Joel A. Carter, of Clinton, TN; two sisters-in-law, Pauline Carter, of Hays and Joann Miller, of Galax, VA; a grandson, Scott Allen Miller and wife, April; a granddaughter, Mary Allison Shifflett; three great-grandsons, who were the apple of her eye, Avery and Andrew Miller and Spencer Shifflett; five nieces, Karen Otten of Atlanta, GA, Debbie Collins of Clemmons, NC, Judy Ketron of Knoxville, TN, Lori Collazo, of Clinton, TN and Linda Seamster, of Boone, NC and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Elmer Glade Miller; her parents; grandparents; a sister, Mary Lean Carter Severt; a brother, Jerry Dean Carter. Our loss is Heaven's gain.
