Mr. Marcus Brad Cockerham, better known as "Brad" age 38, of Jefferson passed away Sunday at his home. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 11, 2019 at 2:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ken Morris officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00pm on Thursday, July 11, 2019; two hours prior to the memorial service. Mr. Cockerham was born in Ashe County on November 1, 1980. Brad was a Sous Chef and his last job was working at Hotel Tavern Restaurant. In his spare - time he enjoyed tinkering and working on things. He is survived by his parents; Alan and Libby Cockerham of Jefferson, one brother; Jason Cockerham of West Jefferson and a niece Abby Cockerham, one sister; Angie DeBord and husband Eddie and a niece, Kensey Shepherd and a nephew, Jake Shepherd; of Marion, VA, his grandmother; Darlene Phillips of Jefferson, and his aunts and uncles; Marcus Cockerham and wife, Joy, of Jefferson, a cousin, Brent Pitts and husband, Josh, of Jefferson, and Jackie Wall Hartsog of Jefferson, cousins, Preston and Duston Hartsog, of Myrtle Beach, SC.
