Mr. Billy McKinley Grubb, age 88, of Todd passed away Saturday morning, August 24, 2019 at Burke County Hospice and Palliative Care. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 27, 2019 at 2:00pm at Baldwin Community Church with Rev. Tim Roten, Rev. H. D. Houck and Rev. Doug Hardin officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethany Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00pm on Tuesday, August 27, 2019; two hours prior to the funeral service. Mr. Grubb was born in Ashe County on June 14, 1931 to the late I.M. and Cleo Greer Grubb. He worked to repair watches and clocks at Miller's Jewelry and Wiles Jewelry. He was a member of Baldwin Community Church. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Betty Wood Grubb on February 20, 2011. Mr. Grubb is survived by a son, Rev. Kenneth Grubb and wife, Jackie, of Todd; two granddaughters, Michelle Hildebrand and husband, Lonny, of Hildebrand and Christy Grubb and fiancé, Craig Ritter, of Todd; a grandson, Aaron Grubb and wife Cassandra, of Todd; three great-grandchildren, Carrie Smith and Connor Smith, both of Hildebrand, Pvt. Chase Smith of Fort Sill, Oklahoma; three step great-grandchildren, Austin Hildebrand, Aaron Hildebrand and Michaela Hildebrand; great-grandchildren, Hadley Grubb and Emery Taylor Ritter, of Todd; three sisters-in-law, Shelby Wood, of Todd, Rita Grubb, of Todd and Thelma Wood, of Todd; a brother-in-law, James Wood and wife, Marie, of Todd; several nieces and nephews also survive. The family will be meeting at the home of Kenneth Grubb at 693 Grant Houck Road in Todd.
