Mrs. Jessie Howell Huffman, age 64, of Piney Creek passed away Sunday morning, September 1, 2019 at her home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 4, 2019 at 11:00am at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Hopson and Rev. Teddy Shatley officiating. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00pm on Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel. Mrs. Huffman was born in Ashe County on November 13, 1954 to the late Bradley and Rhoda Hopkins Howell. She retired from Piney Creek Elementary School. She was a member of Grassy Creek Baptist Church. Jessie was a devoted wife and mother; she loved her family very much. She was also preceded in death by three siblings. Mrs. Huffman is survived by: her husband, Rev. Johnny Huffman; two sons, Joshua Wayne Huffman and Joseph Isaac Huffman, both of Piney Creek; two brothers, Billy Howell and wife, Doris, of West Jefferson and Jerry Howell and wife, Sandra, of West Jefferson; several nieces and nephews also survive. Flowers will be accepted. The family will be meeting at home place at 1384 Bakers Ridge Road in Piney Creek.
