Mrs. Christina Jeannette Ashley Shinn, better known as "Jan" age 59, of West Jefferson passed away Sunday, September 22, 2019 at her residence. Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at 5pm at South Beaver Baptist Church with Rev. Johnny Goodman officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the memorial service. Mrs. Shinn was born in Ashe County on November 3, 1959 to David Harve Ashley and the late Rosa Lee Weaver Ashley. She worked for the Ashe County Schools, as a school bus driver. She enjoyed riding motorcycles with her husband, Tater. Also, she loved to fish, knit and worked in her flowers. She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kelly Penley Mrs. Shinn is survived by: her husband, Danny Shinn, better known as "Tater"; two daughters, Christina Kelly, of West Jefferson and Amanda Vido and husband, Tim, of Fleetwood; her father, David Ashley, of West Jefferson; a brother, Tim Ashley and wife, Jennifer, of Crumpler; three grandchildren, Angel Penley, Austin Penley and Kendra Penley; several nieces and nephews also survive.
