Bessie Ellender Canter was born on February 7, 1921 to the late Gethro and Rebecca Rash Canter in the Three Top Community of Ashe County, NC. She went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on September 28, 2019; making her stay on earth 98 years, 7 months and 21 days. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at 3:00pm at Three Top Baptist Church with Rev. Frankie Rash officiating. Burial will follow in the Rash Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00pm n Wednesday; one hour prior to the funeral service. Bessie was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Dellet, Odell and Joseph Canter; five sisters, Alice Price, Flossie Grogan, Ocie Canter, Beulah Osborne and Eartle Canter. Bessie enjoyed working on the farm with her chickens, cattle and gardening. She loved to harvest the land. She will be greatly missed. Miss. Canter is survived by: a sister, Shirley Canter of the home; several nieces and nephews also survive including her caretakers, Jessica and Cody Ham. Bessie made a profession of faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thanksgiving Day on November 22, 2001.
