Obituary of Joy Lois Lawson

Mrs. Joy Lois Lawson, age 73 of Crumpler passed away Wednesday afternoon, October 9, 2019 at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 18, 2019 at 11am at Boone Family Funeral Home with Rev. Lonnie Jones officiating.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 17, 2019 from 6-8pm at Boone Family Funeral Home.

Mrs. Lawson was born in Milltown, New Jersey on September 27, 1946 to the late Austin and June Deblander Christ. Joy was a member at Welcome Home Baptist Church. Art and her Christian faith were the biggest parts of her life. She enjoyed playing bingo and painting. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and will be missed by all.

Joy is preceded in death by her husband of 42 years; Charles Robert Lawson.

She is survived by two daughters; Virginia Barker and husband Tim of Crumpler, and Dulcey Lawson of Crumpler, one brother; Kenneth Christ and wife Shirley of North Fort Myers, FL, a sister-in-law; Alicia Schofield of Orlando, FL, two grandsons; Curtis Barker and Timothy Barker, Jr., and several nieces and nephews also survive.
