Obituary of Gloria Mendoza

Mrs. Gloria Mendoza, age 82, of West Jefferson passed away Friday morning, November 22, 2019 at her home.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at 1:00pm at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in Boone with Rev. Bud Russell officiating.

Mrs. Mendoza was born in Arequipa, Peru, South America to the late Jorge De la Cuba and Candelaria Marquez.  Gloria live in Peru until 1999; also, in Chicago for 17 years and in Ashe County for 20 years. She attended Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in Boone.

She married Jose Antonio Mendoza Vega on January 8, 1961.

Mrs. Mendoza is survived by:  her husband, Jose Antonio Mendoza Vega; two daughters, Rosario Mendoza of West Jefferson and Juliana Karr and husband, Bruce, of Fleetwood; two sons, Jose Mendoza of Chicago and Ivan Mendoza and wife, Iris, of Chicago; two brothers, Zandor De La Cuba of Knoxville, TN and Carlos De La Cuba of Chicago; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews also survive.
