Mrs. Wilma Jean May Richardson, age 80, of Crumpler, passed away Sunday morning, January 19, 2020 at Ashe Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at 2pm at Bristol Baptist Church with Rev. Jessie Ball, Rev. Keith Wagoner, Rev. Billy Joe Blevins, and Rev. Chris Goodman officiating. Burial will follow in the Wallace Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12-2pm, two hours prior to the services. Mrs. Richardson was born in Ashe County on May 2, 1939 to the late Gordan and Clyde Eldreth May. She was a member of Bristol Baptist Church and singing in the church choir. Wilma enjoyed gardening and canning. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and will be missed by all. She is preceded in death by her husband; Eulon Richardson, daughter; Jan Hamby, and brother; Bill May. Mrs. Richardson is survived by two sons, Tim Richardson and wife, Sharon, of West Jefferson and Keith Richardson, better known as “P.Y.” (Teresa) of Asheville; one daughter, Sheila James and husband, Dennis, of Taylorsville; five grandchildren, Jennifer Elliott and husband, Randy, of Greensboro, Chris Hamby and wife, Maria, of Jefferson, Megan Colvard and husband Nathan, of Jefferson, Kayla Richardson Hill and husband, Adam, of Fleetwood and Cody James and wife Amy, of Taylorsville; nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
