Obituary of Hettie Florence Farmer

Mrs. Hettie Florence Mayberry Farmer, age 91, of Creston, died Thursday morning, October 15, 2009 at her home. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 18, 2009 at 2:00pm at Big Laurel Church of Christ in Christian Union with Rev. Darrell Graybeal officiating. Burial will follow in the Ashelawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00pm on Saturday, October 17, 2009 at the Big Laurel Church of Christ in Christian Union. Mrs. Farmer was born in Ashe County on Saturday, September 7, 1918 to the late William and Lillie Lewis Mayberry. She retired from Sprague Electric Mfg. Company. She was a member at Big Laurel Church of Christ in Christian Union. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Harley Farmer on August 12, 2002 and by a son, Bruce Farmer. She is survived by a son, Carl Farmer and wife, Marjorie, of Creston; a daughter-in-law, Francis Farmer, of Creston; a brother, Robert Mayberry and wife, Marie, of Havre De Grace, Maryland; two sisters, Bessie Farmer and husband, Chester, of Aberdeen, Maryland and Bonnie Capute of Havre De Grace, Maryland; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; a great great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews also survive.
