So sorry about the loss of your mother. I grew up in Jefferson where my family (Allen & Ethel Blevins) attended the Jefferson Methodist Church. So I knew your mother since I was a small child. I lived out of state for most of my adult life & when I would run into your mother on a visit to my parents, she always greeted me so warmly. I really enjoyed getting to know Ms. Ruth during her stay at Ashe Assisted. We were kindred moms (our love for our children, our pride in our children for attending UNC (Go Heels) and for our Airmen sons serving the Air Force) Thoughts and prayers to you all, she will be missed!!!

Ruth will be deeply missed by all of those who were blessed to have had her in their lives. She was an amazing woman who had limitless love for her family, friends and community. I considered myself truly fortunate to have had Ruth in my life. I will cherish the memories of time spent with her at family gatherings and celebrations. Sending my love and prayers to our family.

I am sad to hear of Ruth's passing away. She was my mother's bingo friend at AAL. She'd always say 'better luck next time.' She shared with me her years of great service to her county. Ruth always had her makeup on and jewelry to match her lovely outfits. I will miss her sweet smile and kind words to my mother. A real lady. I am so sorry.
