Mrs. Linda Lambert Barr, age 68, of West Jefferson passed away Sunday afternoon, October 18, 2009 at her home. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at 1:00pm at Mount Jefferson Presbyterian Church with Rev. Billy Robinson officiating. Burial will follow in the West Jefferson City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:30-1:00pm on Tuesday, prior to the funeral service. Mrs. Barr was born in Ashe County on Saturday, May 3, 1941 to Foster and Laura Ellen Osborne Lambert. She was a retired school teacher. She taught at West Jefferson Elementary School and Beaver Creek High School. She is survived by her husband, Wilson Barr of the home; two sons, Rusty Barr and wife, Melissa, of West Jefferson and Chris Barr and wife, Kelly, of West Jefferson; two brothers, Jerry Lambert of Marion, Indiana and David Lambert, of Laurel Springs; two grandchildren, Avery Barr and Olivia Barr; two step grandsons, Sid Carpenter and Jesse Carpenter; several nieces and nephews also survive.
