Mr. Roger William Taylor, age 74, of Todd passed away Monday at Caldwell UNC Health Care in Lenoir. A private graveside will be held on Saturday at 2:00pm at Bethany Cemetery with Rev. Elliott Osowitt, Rev. Chase Taylor and Rev. JD Walton officiating. Roger was born in Ashe County on November 10, 1945 to the late Bruce and Lula Howell Taylor. He retired from GDS as a truck driver. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and will be missed by all. Mr. Taylor is survived by his wife of 52 years; Patsy Parsons Taylor, four sons; Allen Taylor and wife Sharon of Todd, Joe Taylor and wife Julie of Lansing, Chris Taylor and wife Thelma of Todd, and Jason Taylor of Todd, one daughter; Sonya Baker and husband Larry of Fleetwood, one brother; Bobby Taylor of Mountain City, five sisters; Myrtle Testerman of Maryland, Virginia Ackerman of West Jefferson, Ginger Wood of West Jefferson, Ruth Lipford of Yadkinville, and Beulah Mae Rash of Todd, seven grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survive.
