Mrs. Betty Ruth Dillard Bledsoe, age 74, of Fleetwood, died Sunday evening, October 25, 2009 at Margate Health & Rehab Center. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at 1:00pm at Big Flatts Baptist Church with Rev. Gary Watson and Rev. Bluferd Eldreth officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00-1:00pm on Wednesday, one hour prior to the funeral service at the church. Mrs. Bledsoe was born in Ashe County on Sunday, November 18, 1934 to the late Ned Oconnell and Nancy Miller Dillard. She was an Assembly worker at Sprague Electric. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Franklin Bledsoe in February 1994 and a son, Jerry Thomas Bledsoe on July, 2004 She is survived by two sons, Mike Bledsoe of Fleetwood and Robbie Bledsoe of Wilbar, NC; a brother, Clarence Dillard of Mocksville; two sisters, Nellie Vannoy of Winston-Salem and Georgie Hartzog, of Newport News, VA; three grandchildren, Maria Holman and husband, Rodger, of West Jefferson, Misty Bledsoe, of Fleetwood and April Lambert, of Wilkesboro; six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.
