Mr. Millard James Farmer, better known as "Bill" age 93, of Lansing passed away Monday morning, June 8, 2020 at his home. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 11, 2020 at 11:00am at Farmers Memorial Baptist Church with Rev. Danny Joe Farmer and Rev. John Elledge officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00pm on Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Farmer was born in Ashe County on January 1, 1927 to the late Grey and Delsie Davis Farmer. He worked around the farmer with his cattle. He enjoyed fishing, riding his four-wheeler and he was a great story teller. He was a loving father and grandfather; he will be missed by all. Bill was also preceded in death by his wife, Deanna Trivett Farmer; a grandson, Derek Farmer; three sisters, Orpha Stamper, Effie Taylor and Lorine Surber; three brothers, Wilton Farmer, Tommy Farmer and Vernie Farmer. Mr. Farmer is survived by: three sons, Danny Farmer (Drema) of Lansing, Billy Farmer (Tammy) of Lansing and Rick Farmer (Angie) of Fleetwood; two daughters, Darlene Trone (Donnie) of Leesburg, VA and Shirley Lewis (Rob) of Lansing; a sister, Kathleen Hensley (Cecil) of White Top, VA; twelve grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; special caregivers, Stephanie and Valerie Ratliff, of Lansing; several nieces and nephews also survive.
