I am so sorry to hear of John passing. Condolences to the family. John and I coached high school football . we were on the staff at Wilkes Central and later when he was at Ashe, I would always catch up with him when the team I was coaching played Ashe. John was a great guy and I loved hearing his stories about his travels. Great guy! R.I P. John. Robert Johnson

John was such a bright and shining soul that you could clearly see the illumination of his soul in his eyes and smile. The brilliance of his soul was experienced through his gestures whether it was the words you most needed to hear or a totally unselfish act of friendship when you were down. You made the world a better place with your presence, and while we will all miss you dearly, I am positive Heaven is celebrating having you home again.

Today's classroom needs more educators like Mr. Watts. He had a great sense of humor, yet would not tolerate disrespect of any kind. It's a fine line that he balanced very well.

Billie, Jan and Family, I was so sad to hear about Johnny's passing today. I always enjoyed seeing Johnny at Beaver Creek Christian Church because I knew I would be greeted with a big smile and a hug. He made those around him feel special. Just know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. May the memories of a life well lived carry you through the days ahead. Love to you, Rachel Anglin

Coach meant more to me than most anyone could ever know. He taught me many things, not only on the field, in the classroom and more importantly about life. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.
