Mr. Grant “Allen” Hopkins, age 77, of West Jefferson passed away July 4, 2020 at Ashe Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at 2pm at Bald Mountain Baptist Church with Rev. John Elledge officiating. Burial will follow in the Bald Mountain Baptist Church Cemetery. The body will lie in state from 1-2pm at Bald Mountain Baptist Church. Allen was born in Ashe County on September 6, 1942 to the late Grant and Stella Howell Hopkins. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Linda Kay Hopkins and stepfather Dent Houck. Allen was co-owner of H & H Well Drilling. He is survived by three sons; Anthony “Tony” Hopkins, Sr and fiancé Pam of West Jefferson, Timothy Hopkins and wife Justine of West Jefferson, and Anthony Hopkins, Jr of West Jefferson, one daughter; Patricia Seagle and husband Lance of Fleetwood, one brother; Dentise Houck and wife Pauline of West Jefferson, one sister; Linda Stone of Rural Hall, Several grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, and multiple nieces and nephews also survive.
