My deepest prayers to the family of Dr Sexton. His contribution to the African-American community of Ashe, Allegheny Counties of NC and Grayson and Wythe Counties of Va in his collaborative work with my great-uncle the late Rev Mack McMillan in capturing the history of the black churches as part of The New Covenant Association will be remembered for generations to come. His book ‘The Chalice” has been circulated throughout the US and donated to the NC General Baptist as part of archives of history. His gifts of writing this history will inspire generations to come. My prayers for the family

My condolences to the Mark Sexton family and friends. I did not know him personally, but he wrote a very important book in collaboration with the Reverend MM McMillian entitled, “The Chalice and The Covenant” in 1976. This book was a compilation of the history of the the New Covenant Baptist Association of VA and NC, a group of African-American churches in Alleghany and Ashe Counties and Grayson and Wythe Counties in VA. Just had an out-of-town friend ask about getting a copy of the book; I have a few copies! Much love
