Mr. Teddy V. Jones, age 81, of Conover, formerly of Ashe County passed away Monday, August 17, 2020 at Catawba Valley Medical Center. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2020 at 2:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Warner Eller officiating. Burial will follow in the Ashelawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery with military rites. Mr. Jones was born in Ashe County on July 2, 1939 to the late Grant James and Ruth Lillian Richardson Jones. He served in the United States Army. He worked as a supervisor at a furniture plant. Teddy attended Tri City Baptist Church in Conover. He loved his nieces and nephews like they were his own children. He will be greatly missed. Ted was a man that may not of loved many but he loved the few in his life deeply and unconditionally. If you were someone he loved then he loved you beyond the stars. Ted and his wife Hess didn’t have children of their own but they were parents and grandparents to children that came into their life. The parents and children in this room know what I mean if you were blessed enough to have him in your life. I will never forget the smile and joy the birth of Jacob Turner gave Ted. As Ted came to the end of life within an hour of his death he was able to FaceTime with Jacob. That same smile came on his face and he spoke about watching Jacob play ball and spoiling him. The nurse said, she had never seen Ted’s face light up like that in all the time she took care of him. Ted traveled some but he loved home. He took great pride in his yard, his vehicles and he grilled the best hamburgers. Ted loved his bride Hester Jones of 60 years plus. He grieved her death deeply over the past 2.5 years. I can only imagine his smile when he met her after death and I can only imagine what she said to him ...lol As a last and final - The nurse let us know that as Ted took his last breath to go meet Hessie he took her hand and said “thank you for the corn; I love corn. He was preceded in death by his wife, Hester Jane Turner Jones on November 13, 2017 Mr. Jones is survived by: several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers are as follow: Tony Turner, Jacob Turner, Jerry Richardson, Gary Richardson and Hal Turner.
